Delivery:
Within Australia, online orders will typically be dispatched within 72 hours from time of order (excluding weekends). For example, if you order at 3pm on Friday, courier will pick up from us the following Wednesday. There may be exceptions.
Wax Obsession is currently set up to deliver within Australia. However, if you are an international buyer, please contact us at hello@waxobsession.com.au and we would be happy to help you with your international order. Please note, there may be some customs restrictions on shipping certain products overseas. Credit card payments are processed in Australia and some banks may charge your account an exchange rate fee for purchases made outside of Australia. We can provide more details once we evaluate your order, including shipping costs.
Returns: – Wax Obsession’s return policy is 7 days (within 7 days of purchase date) and is only applicable for online sales. If 7 days has passed since your online purchase, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return (within the 7 day time period), your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. To complete your return, please email us at hello@waxobsession.com.au within 7 days of invoice date. We will send you a Returns Authorisation form to send back to use along with your proof of purchase (receipt). Without the Return Authorisation form and proof of purchase, we will not be able to offer a refund. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Please note, Australia Post or another delivery party is used for all shipments, so all shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer and we are unable to refund any freight costs. Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded. It is up to the buyer to package returns appropriately to avoid breakage. Any items damaged during shipment back to Wax Obsession will not be eligible for return. When shipping any items you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance for your protection. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item without tracking capabilities, in which case we cannot be responsible for the package.
Exchanges: – Wax Obsession only authorises an exchange if items are defective or damaged, or if we have accidently sent you the incorrect item. In the case of a defective/damaged item, Wax Obsession requires an email to hello@waxobsession.com.au including a photo of the damaged item within 7 days of invoice date, otherwise an exchange will not be available. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. When shipping items you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance for your protection. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item without tracking capabilities in which case we cannot be responsible for the package.
MELT POOL & SETTING THE CANDLE MEMORY
When burning your candle, always allow the top layer of wax to melt 100% across the top reaching all side of the vessel. This may take 3-4 hours for the first burn, but typically less for ongoing burns. By doing so, you will avoid creating a tunnel down the middle of the candle. Allowing the wax to melt all the way across every time will ensure an even, clean burn and your candle will last longer.
WICK TRIMMING
Prior to lighting your candle, check the wicks and trim to approx. 5-6mm. You may notice “mushrooming” at the tip of the wicks from your previous burn….just trim that part off for a clean and even burn. Also make sure to remove any wick debris that may have fallen into the candle.
EXTINGUISHING YOUR CANDLE
We recommend using a candle snuffer rather than blowing out a candle. Using a snuffer will prevent wick debris being blown into the melted wax and avoid potentially causing the wicks to shift off-centre. Using a snuffer will also avoid any wax splashing on you or on the surrounding surface. Best of all, using a snuffer will also lengthen the life of your candle.
CANDLE PLACEMENT
It’s always best to place candles on a heat-resistant surface and away from any draft, including open doorways with a draft or air conditioning/heating vents. Drafts can cause an uneven burn and also cause the wicks to flicker rapidly which will burn your candle down quicker. Always store candles in a cool dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and away from direct sunlight. Direct sunlight and exposure to UV light may discolour the candle.
GENERAL SAFETY
Candle jars may be very hot to the touch, so never move a lit candle. Always keep candles out of reach of pets and children. Never leave a lit candle unattended.
